The Dundee Elementary PTO is on the hunt for parents, students, and neighbors who love nature, gardening, and growing community. The school’s ecosystem is beginning to become an urban native habitat like no other! We take pride in our gardens.
For the 2018 Spring-Fall, we have a great group of individuals taking the lead in our 12 garden beds. Make sure to let the following people know that you are interested in becoming part of the team. If we have a hot summer, we are always in need of reliable waterers!

Grade Bed Lead: K-1: Ashley Wilson - Her vision and execution will bring life to our entryway and Secret Garden on the northwest corner. (Beds 1, 2, 3, and 7)
Grade Bed Lead: 2-3: Ami Patrice - Ami manages the beds on the south side of the school. The south side (Bed 13) will see a welcome of new grasses as we try and fill in the falling railroads ties and hold it in place with natural erosion control. The corner lot has a vision for butterflies. We can work together to discuss best solutions for making this corner habitable for students and their natural friends. (Beds 11, 12, and 13)
Grade Bed Lead: 4-6: Brian Cole - Brian is at the helm for the lower south side/Kids’ Club entrance. In 2017, Bed 14 welcomed a face lift with the working in of a low-budget, new “Zen” path. Native plants are strewn all around these four lower beds. See what you can identify! A community garden may exist, but will need strict adherence to watering and love. (Beds 14, 16, 17, 18)
Specialty Projects: shopping for native plants, designing and planting pots for the entryways, etc. Contact Tina Fong if you have horticultural experience and would like to get more involved in our plans and production.
