Although summer is coming to an end, we are looking forward to being Co-Presidents of the Dundee PTO this upcoming year. This will be our 13th year at Dundee and we became active in the Parent Teacher Organization our first year.
Since then, we have discovered an amazing group of dedicated and involved parents, families and educators.
If you are new to the school, we are sure you have heard that Dundee has a rich history of involved parents and educators pulling together to improve the school experience and community. Besides providing an opportunity to meet new people and interact with other families, the PTO offers:
• Monthly meetings – the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30. Free child care is provided.
• Volunteer opportunities – there are numerous options to get involved. Even if you cannot attend the monthly PTO meetings, there are several options to volunteer with varying degrees of time commitment. Please see the list of committees and volunteer opportunities.
• Family events – Students, staff and families celebrate Dundee together. Some of our favorite events include: Back to School Night, Open House, Holiday Craft Night, Book Fairs and the Sock Hop. We can’t forget Dads and Donuts! Remember to check out our calendar of events to be in the know!
• Enrichment programs – the PTO offers a number of after school programs (educational, clubs, crafts, exercise, and games) that your student(s) can participate in.
As mentioned previously, Dundee Elementary has a long history of excellence propelled by enthusiastic members. Now is your time to become part of that tradition.
We would like to see everyone at the first meeting on September 4th, especially the new parents to Dundee.
In closing, if you want to make the most out of the education of your children... get involved! The PTO is the perfect way to start.
We look forward to getting to know each of you through volunteering throughout the year. If you should have any questions, concerns or feedback, please contact us.
