Sabrina underwent a bone marrow transplant in September. As she neared the 100-day milestone in her recovery, she relapsed on day 91 when one of the two cancers returned. Sabrina and Mrs. Andersen are staying in Cincinnati to continue receiving treatment.
Dundee teachers, staff, students, and parents have supported the Andersen's since their fight started about a year ago. The support will continue now.
This week (January 17-20), students are holding a coin drive for Sabrina. Students can bring pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters (and we'll certainly accept any bills!) to school during the week to be donated to Mrs. Andersen to help with expenses both in Cincinnati and here at home in Nebraska.
There are several other fundraisers in the works, too. We'll let you know as soon as we get more details.
