Are you new to Dundee Elementary?
Welcome! We are so pleased to have you in our community. Dundee is a dedicated, close-knit neighborhood, and we hope that you engage with the PTO by joining for free and continue the tradition. But for now, here are just a few quick things to know. :)
School Hours are:
8:40 am - Classrooms open
8:50 am - Tardy bell
4:05 pm - Dismissal
Kids' Club is the before and after school care at Dundee. Kids' Club opens at 7am, where children will be served breakfast. In the evenings, Kids' Club stays open until 6pm. You can register for Kids' Club here.
The Dundee Dispatch is the monthly newsletter.
Cycle Days are a means to rotate through Specials. Specials are classes such as Music, PE, Library, and Art. Because days off of school are often on Mondays or Fridays, if a class has Music every Monday, those students will miss out on more music classes than other students. To make up for this, Dundee has a system of rotating through specials classes. Each day of school is numbered one through ten. Your child's class is assigned a Special to each Cycle Day. So Cycle Day 1 would be Library, Cycle Day 2 is PE, Cycle Day 3 is Music, etc. Ask your child's teacher for a schedule of cycle days, so your student can be prepared with the proper shoes, library books and thinking caps!
Dundee Direct is our main annual fundraiser for the PTO. Instead of making the kids walk around selling candy and wrapping paper (that, face it, no one really wants), we ask each family to contribute what they can. This way, 100% of the money goes directly to the school and the kids/parents aren't pressured to sell to neighbors, co-workers and extended family. Learn more.
